Wild Berry Farm is a dream project for Nancy and Peter Mangs. We purchased this farm not knowing much about farming, but having a desire to work with the land in our early phases of retirement. As new farmers we were unsure of what to farm, however our fields already had 50+ Tall Bush Blueberry Bushes, so we decided to cultivate and improve that crop. However, while the soil is perfect for growing blueberries, it also is perfect for growing grass. The fields are extremely rocky, making it difficult, if not impossible, to mow — especially around the base of the bushes. Since we wanted organic blueberries, weed killing chemicals were not an option. So we have added sheep to control weeds and grass.

Our U-Pick Blueberries are available in July and August – specific dates will be posted on the site. We hope to have more sheep in the spring.
